Finally, after ten months of schooling, I'm done being a student, back home with my family, and ready to start doing my job as an Army Signal Officer. This morning I graduated from Signal Basic Officer Leadership Course, and even managed to snag the Distinguished Honor Graduate slot for the highest grades in the course. Next, after a few days of well-deserved vacation, it'll be on to the next stage of my career.
Today is my wife Les & I's 10th wedding anniversary!
A few days ago, on April 23, 2009, I graduated from the US Army's Officer Candidate School, and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Signal Corps.
Sadly, on or around April 29, 2009, the hard drive on my laptop crashed. I had not done a backup since before I went to OCS, about 3 months prior. Ouch.
At last, I have completed my "Final Out" from my unit in Baumholder, Germany, and we'll shortly be returning to the United States of America! After some time visiting family and friends over Christmas, we will do some house-hunting near Ft. Bragg, NC (my next assigned permanent duty station), then I'll be off to Ft. Benning, GA, to attend Officer Candidate School.
